How did it happen, that Asap Ferg decided to devote his life to music making?
Asap Ferg was born in Harlem, New York. His father sold fashionable clothes in the local boutique and draw logos for various music recording labels. Asap Ferg was interested in music from the earliest years, but when his father died from kidney disease, he decided to devote his life to fashion and make his boutique prosperous.
At the same time, Asap Ferg had a school friend, another popular rapper, Asap Rocky. The boys rapped together just for fun and it was Rocky, who inspired Ferg to make career of a musician. Together the boys entered the band Asap Mob. Both the rappers took their stage nick names from the band name.
As Asap Ferg used to tell, the main secret of his popularity is his persistence. Everything he does – either fashion or rapping – he does it passionately and puts 101% of his energy in it.
