Asap Rocky is a multi talented person, who tries his hand as an actor, directs his music videos himself and writes songs. Now it is hard to believe that this great internationally popular star could spend the major part of his life in jail. However, this is his story.
Asap Rocky was born in a poor family in Harlem, NY. His older brother taught him to rap, when he was just 8. Asap got interested in rapping, but he had not much time for it.
His family earned their living, selling drugs. When Asap was 12 his father was arrested and put into jail for it.
His older brother was killed a year later. To honor his brother, the teenager deepened into rapping. He helped his mother and sister to sell drugs and joined the band A$AP Mob to develop his performing skills.
Soon the band members released their debut single “Peso”. It has become popular and it inspired Asap Rocky to release his debut album, which turned him into a star.
In 2014 Asap Rocky got his first Grammy nomination for the song “Fuckin’ Problems”.
