BJ Penn was born in a family of Jay Dee and his wife in Hawaii. He has three brothers and they started training together. In his teens BJ Penn was introduced to Jui Jitsu. It was his neighbor Tom Callos, who had become the first trainer of BJ and his brother.
Soon BJ, who created his nick from his home moniker “Baby Jay”, decided to continue practice Jui Jitsu professionally. He moved from Hawaii to California and started training there. And soon he met his first victories and titles. In 2000 BJ won black belt in Jui Jitsu.
BJ Penn have achieved his peak in fighting and then started to make occasional appearances in various movies. Thus in 2009 he appeared in the film “Never Surrender”.
