The man was born in Detroit. He met Kenya’s future mother when he was a teenager. He didn’t raise the girl, but continued communicating with her when she grew up. To note, the future star ran away from home at the age of twelve, and that was one of the reasons for the breakthrough between father and daughter, they haven’t been talking to each other for five years. They have on-and-off relations, so the TV celebrity even didn’t invite her father to the wedding ceremony (however, she has regretted that decision).

The reasons for such a decision are unknown, but Patricia made up her mind and never spoke to her daughter. She was a teenager when she became a mother, so Kenya wasn’t a really expected child. Thus, Patricia forwarded all problems connected with raising the girl to her husband’s parents and older relatives. As the star mentioned in the interviews, her mother pretended her daughter was invisible.
