Billy Crystal, the son of a housewife and jazz promoter, was a cute funny child. At the same time he had never thought about acting and dreamed to become a baseball player. He entered Marshall University with the only aim – to continue playing baseball in the University team. That’s why, when the team was disbanded after a year, Billy left the University.
He changed several colleges till finally started to study film and television in New York University.
After graduation Billy continued his career as a drama teacher, but he found enough time to practice standup comedy in the local night clubs.
There he was noticed by a producer Norman Lear, who invited a promising young comedian to the series “Sesame Street”.
Billy Crystal’s popularity increased in 80s, when he participated in such legendary movies as “Running Scared”, “When Harry Met Sally” and others.
