The years following were filled with hardships as the family was forced to live in a van and could barely survive each day. According to Jim, his father’s failure inspired him to be a successful comedian as he believed Percy was gifted enough for comedy but in fear disguised as practicality, made a conservative choice and settled for his job in the financial sector.
