Celine Marie Claudette Dion popularly known as Celine Dion is one in the list of top singing superstars in our world. Despite her being almost five decades old, she remains a world-acclaimed performer and is the number two highest earning artist in music history. Thousands of people have either seen or heard of the movie Titanic (1997). Her song “My Heart Will Go On” was used for the classical love movie and till date, it remains arguably her most famous and successful song.
Date of birth: March 20, 1968
Zodiac sign: Aries
Years after the release of the blockbuster sound track, the multiple award-winning Celine announced that she only released the song because she was convinced by her manager, Rene. At the time when she wrote the song, she was reluctant to record it because it was not “nice enough”. Isn’t it an irony that just a demo recording became one of the world’s favorite love songs? All of this was because she was encouraged by someone to go against her fears.
She has an incredible voice no doubt but the pop icon also needed people to transform her from a teen star in the French speaking Quebec to an international phenomenon. We’ll be looking more into the lives of her closest people. They are none other than her late husband/producer and three lovely boys.

Rene Angelil (spouse till his demise)
Duration of Marriage: December 17, 1994 till January 14, 2016
Date of Birth: January 16, 1942
Zodiac Sign: Capricorn
The Canadian born Rene started off first as a music artist himself. In 1961, he formed a singing group together with two his childhood friend and was quite famous until “Les Baronets” split in 1972. This somewhat marked the end of his career as a musician and he took up management as his new career. Again in this he became quite good. Angelil was 38 already when he first met the 12 year old Celine. He saw her singing casually in a tape her brother sent him (her family was actually a music family). This tape was sent because Rene was being considered as a tentative producer for her album way back in 1981.
He eventually became her producer but little did Celine know that he was going to work his way to her heart forever. Rene mortgaged his apartment to provide resources enough to finance her debut record “Unison” all because he saw so much potential in her. The two music inclined fellows started a relationship when Dion was just 19 with Rene being older than her by almost three decades. Things were kept a secret for a while until they were both comfortable with making it public.
The superstar singer has said time and time again that Angelil is one big reason why her career blossomed the way it did. Their extravagant December 17, 1994 wedding was even broadcasted live on their national Canadian television. Before his marriage to Celine Dion, Rene fathered three kids from two marriages: Patrick (born 1968), Jean Pierre (born 1974) and Anne Marie (born 1977). Angelil’s third marriage to the music goddess was tagged one of the sweetest celebrity love stories; they were soul mates at the core aside the wide age gap and business relationship.
On January 14, 2016; her super talented manager died at 73 in their home following a tiring and brutal fight with throat cancer. Two days after his death (on Rene’s birthday), the Canadian music goddess also lost her brother Daniel to a similar kind of cancer.
Unfortunately, Rene could not die in his wife’s arms as he wished because he was alone in bed when death took him. The celebrity singer was greatly pained that she could not fulfill this wish of his but is slowly adjusting to life and letting go of this one big regret. Dion misses Rene; she misses who he was before the sickness came. She also states that though he is not here physically, he lives on inside of her. Her memory indeed loves him!
