Every family is beautiful, and these LGBT parents prove it. Gay celebrities became moms and dads because their hearts wanted children, which makes them some of the best parents in the world.
All famous people on our list had different path to parenthood, but we have no doubt that they cherish and love their angels to bits.

Matt Bomer (3)
Occupation: Actor
Former White Collar star Matt Bomer married his PR manager Simon Halls in 2011, but the couple has been together for much longer. Bomer kept his family with Halls secret until finally coming out to the public 2014. Simon is 13 years Matt’s senior, but it’s not an issue for the couple. They decided against adoption, and instead had all of their three sons with surrogate’s help. Their oldest son, Kit, was born in 2005, and they had twin boys, Walker and Henry, in 2008.
Jodie Foster (2)

Jodie Foster had two children while living with her partner Cydney Bernard in the 90s. Although Jodie publically admitted to being gay in 2007, the famous actress was in a relationship with Bernard from 1993 to 2008. Jodie’s first son was born in 1998, and she welcomed her second boy in 2001. She carried both of her sons. Foster prefers to live a very private life, so it’s actually unknown who was her children’s father. However, Jodie has plans to tell the boys about their real dad when they turn 21 years old.
Jenna Wolfe (2)

The host of NBC Today Jenna Wolfe came out as gay in 2013 during the taping of her show. At the time, she revealed she’d been in a relationship with her fellow correspondent Stephanie Gosk since 2010. But the news didn’t end there. Wolfe proceeded to shock her colleagues by announcing she was expecting her first child. Her first baby girl was born later that year, and in 2015, Jenna and Stephanie welcomed their second daughter. Wolfe carried both of her daughters, whom she got pregnant with via artificial insemination.
Elton John (2)

Elton John and his husband, David Furnish, have an exemplary relationship. They have been together since 1993, but they were only able to get married in 2014, after gay marriage was legalized in the UK. The couple has two sons, Zachary and Elijah. Their oldest son was born in 2010, followed by his younger brother in 2013, when John was 66 years old. Elton and David had both of their boys with the same surrogate. Interestingly, aside from his own kids, the legendary singer has 10 godchildren, including David and Victoria Beckham’s sons.

Neil Patrick Harris has an absolutely adorable family with his husband, David Burtka. After coming out as gay in 2006, Neil announced on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that he was in a relationship with the actor since 2004. The couple got secretly engaged in 2006, but was only able to get married in 2014, after the legalization of same-sex marriage. In 2010, Neil and David surprised their fans by announcing they were expecting twins via surrogate. Their son and daughter were born that same year.
Ricky Martin (3)

Ricky Martin’s sexual orientation was shrouded by mystery for a very long time. It didn’t help the rumors when Martin, who previously was in relationships with women, decided to have kids with the help of a surrogate in 2008. Apparently, Ricky wanted to be a father, so he gladly welcomed his two boys, Matteo and Valentino. In 2010, the famous singer finally admitted he was gay. In 2018, Martin announced that he married his boyfriend of two years, Jwan Yosef. In January 2019 Ricky announced that they became a parents to a baby girl Lucia Martin-Yosef.
Ryan Murphy (2)

The genius behind such TV hits as Glee and American Horror Story, Ryan Murphy, shares two sons with his husband David Miller. The couple has been married since 2013. They welcomed their first son, Logan, in 2012, and their second boy, Ford, was born in 2014. Ryan and David had both of their children via surrogate. In 2018, Murphy announced that his youngest son had been battling cancer for two years. Ford was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2016, and since then underwent a major surgery and harsh procedures. Ryan confirmed that his son is now doing well.
Cynthia Nixon (3)

Former Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon had her two biological children with ex-partner Danny Mozes, with whom she was in a relationship from 1988 to 2003. In 1996, Cynthia gave birth to their first daughter, Samantha. The couple also had a boy, Charles in 2003. One year after splitting from Mozes, Cynthia met her current partner, Christine Marinoni. The couple got married in 2012. They also have a son together, who was born in 2011 and carried by Marinoni. Cynthia’s oldest child came out as transgender in 2018 and is now named Samuel.

American Idol runner-up and political activist Clay Aiken is a proud single gay dad. He had his son, Parker, via in-vitro fertilization in 2008 with his close friend Jaymes Foster, who is the sister of Clay’s record producer David Foster. Aiken came out as gay the same year his son was born. He believes that it was the birth of his child that gave him courage to be honest about his sexual orientation. Clay said coming out was the first decision he made as a father, because he didn’t want to raise his son in a lie.
Rufus Wainwright (1)

Rufus Wainwright shares his only daughter, Viva Katherine, with his close friend Lorca Cohen. Viva Katherine was born in 2011, after Rufus was very vocal with public about wanting to be a father and missing something in his life. He decided to have a baby with Cohen, while living with his current husband, Jörn Weisbrodt. Wainwright’s daughter is raised by both Rufus and Lorca. As a result, Viva Katherine has three loving parents.
Wanda Sykes (2)

Before settling with her current wife, Alex Niedbalski, in 2008, Wanda Sykes was married to a man. Unfortunately, her first marriage didn’t give Wanda any children. However, once Sykes came out as a lesbian in 2008 and married her wife that same year, her family started to take shape. Wanda and Alex share two kids, twins Olivia and Lucas. Niedbalski personally gave birth to their children, meaning that Sykes has no biological kids.
Rosie O’Donnell (5)

Rosie O’Donnell and her ex-partner Kelli Carpenter share four children together, three of which were adopted by the couple. Kelli gave birth to their youngest daughter, Vivienne, in 2002. The girl was conceived via artificial insemination. In 2000, the couple adopted 3-year-old Mia, but the girl was taken away from Rosie and Kelli due to old laws prohibiting adoption by same-sex couples in Florida. In 2004, O’Donnell and Carpenter separated. Then, in 2011, Famous TV host married Michelle Rounds, with whom she adopted her fifth child.
Melissa Etheridge (4)

Melissa Etheridge shares four kids with two women. She had her first two bundles of joy with long-time girlfriend Julie Cypher in 1997 and 1998. Julie carried both of their children. Their sperm donor was famous singer David Crosby. In 2001, the couple separated, and in just two years Melissa married Tammy Lynn Michaels. Etheridge and Michaels had twins in 2006. Once again, Melissa didn’t carry her children, meaning that Tammy Lynn gave birth to their twins. The couple didn’t disclose their donor.

Host of Iron Chef America Cat Cora shares her four children with ex-wife Jennifer. The couple got married in 2013, but previously had been together for 15 years. Cat and Jennifer had four sons together, all conceived via in vitro fertilization. Both women carried two children each. In 2015, the couple split. Two years later, Cat started dating Nicole Ehrlich, whom she married in 2018. Nicole has two sons from a previous relationship.
Lee Daniels (2)

The man who brought us Precious (2009), The Butler (2013), and TV hit Empire Lee Daniels became a father due to a terrible tragedy. In 1996, his brother passed away when his kids were only three days old. Daniels took in his niece and nephew and later adopted them. At the time, Lee was in a relationship with Billy Hopkins. Together they became the first same-sex couple to adopt in Pennsylvania. Daniels and Hopkins separated, but Lee continues to be a devoted father to twins Clara and Liam.
