What is your first association, when hearing about this artist? –“Englishman in New York”? Then you are right, because he definitely lives there. Being one of the most popular singers around the globe, Sting gathers love and attention throughout more than 25 years of his career.
Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, or Sting, really comes from Northumberland, England. And looking for luck and fame, the young man moved to the “city that never sleeps” becoming the guitarist of the rock band “Police”.
When making the solo career, Sting created the unbelievable mix of styles, combining rock, jazz and reggae in one. That’s why he sometimes performs with the live orchestra interpreting the world-famous songs in new ways. For the example may stand “Roxanne”, which has got more than three versions including the original form.
The musician is very active in the entertainment industry, so far many concerts during the world tour 2016 are planned in USA and Europe.

As any concert this one was also planned ahead. With no doubts it would be held successfully, people were send the invitations. With no doubts in cheerful mood for everyone to obtain after the show, the check-list of compositions was made and arranged. But that exact day a huge tragedy happened.
It was awful to hear about attacks, so far all the concert was different from one to be basically planned. The songs to be performed were dedicated to people, who suffered in this event.
3.2006 – Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. Yes, you are not misheard, a rock guitarist participated in the coolest jazz event ever making the songs to look like new in their new interpretation.
The well-known to be presented were “Message in the Bottle”, “Shape of Heart”, “Englishman”, etc.

4.2009 – Durham Cathedral concert. All emotions that evening were very special as he was playing in Homeland. The conditions were also unique as the place for concert to be held was the old church. Together they made the evening to be great and gorgeous.
The event was organised to support the album If On a Winter’s Night….
5.2010 – the small performance in the New York’s soul – directly on the street, with an orchestra, in a white shirt, having dozens of people to gather around the stage, who were singing together with him.
Surely the song to be presented was “Englishman in New York”.
6.2010 – Berlin. The concert to be called „Live in Berlin”, which was recorded and released soon after the event occurred. It was held in the original and classic atmosphere together with Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The beloved songs included such famous, as “Englishman in New York”, “Roxanne” and “When We Dance”, “Desert Rose”.
7. 2011 –the Anniversary of his career did take place. 25 years of complete happiness and complete freedom on stage. 25 years of hard work and challenging stuff were behind.
The concert was held at Beacon Theatre in the New York City. It was the performance to benefit the Robin Hood Foundation and support the fight against poverty in the city.
8.2014 – one tradition was likely to be continued on the 52nd street in New York between two theatres. All happened because Sting was inside. So, people who were waiting for him began to sing the hit of 1981st – “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”.
The artist surely came out and…sang together with them!
